Here is a case that is a curiosity but also one of caution. Here is a woman who was hired as a Nanny. Which means you are supposed to work at the job. This particular Nanny thought otherwise. Apparently, she sat in her room, didn’t clean house and didn’t take care of the children. The couple who hired her tried to fire her and get her out of their house. She wouldn’t go.
According to the article in CBS Los Angeles….”On Thursday, CBS2 and KCAL9 reporter Amy Johnson picked up the story she first reported Wednesday.
She said new details are emerging about Diane Stretton’s background, including several lawsuits she has filed and that have been filed against her, even cases involving family members.
Johnson spoke to several people, some by phone, and from all over the country, who said they had had legal dealings with Stretton.
Johnson said there are cases involving homeowners association upkeep, traffic accidents, estates, appliance purchases, even rental cars.
Of course, the family was advised to conduct background checks. But background checks work best as part of the pre-employment screening process. Running them in the aftermath will only tell you what you just go yourself into. Be smart and check them out before you hire.
