Corra Group Meets Increased Need for International Background Checks

El Segundo, CA (PRWEB) June 05, 2012

Corra Group has expanded its sourcing capabilities to meet the marked increase in the need forinternational background checks. The increase in international background searches is a result of more American employers recruiting applicants from abroad.

“Within the past five years or so, American companies are recruiting qualified candidates from a variety of foreign countries,” said Gordon Basichis, Corra Group Co-Founder. “Some of these candidates are being recruited to staff the corporation’s foreign offices, and many have the advanced skill sets that are missing in a quantity of domestic graduates. Screening them to assure they are eligible for employment has altered the dynamic of industry.”

Basichis noted more employers are hiring foreign recruits in both traditional and developing industries. They are being recruited by small and mid-sized contractors and larger corporations operating in healthcare, technology, finance, and the defense industries.

“The positions for which they are being recruited are often sensitive in nature,” said Basichis. “There are definitive concerns regarding confidentiality, national security, and access to proprietary information. For recruiters and corporate human resources departments, it is mandated by most employers that a thorough employment screening program be conducted on every candidate.

“If the recruit has been educated abroad, then it is incumbent the staffing entity conduct criminal records, as well as employment verification and education verification in the countries where the candidate has lived, worked, or attended college,” said Basichis. “It is essential that Corra Group continues to seek international resources that can respond to these needs with accuracy and in a timely fashion.”

Basichis noted that this intensified recruiting of international students is a measure taken by key employers to satisfy their current needs for highly skilled and educated workers. “It is also their way of assuring there will be an enduring flow of talent through the various industrial pipelines that keep their businesses competitive in the global market,” he said.

There are thousands of jobs going unfilled for the lack of skilled workers,” said Basichis. “If the government can somehow streamline its procedure for granting immigrant status to talented foreign applicants, then the hiring process will further intensify. Meeting demand for comprehensive international employment screening is a continual and evolving process.”
